E-Mobility Stakeholder Engagement Meeting July 2026

Uganda is Well-Positioned to Lead Africa's E-Mobility Transition

Uganda is emerging as one of Africa's most promising destinations for electric mobility (e-mobility). Driven by ambitious government policies, expanding local manufacturing capacity, and increasing private sector investment, the country is laying the foundation for a cleaner, more competitive, and industrialised economy.

The transition to e-mobility presents significant opportunities to create quality jobs, stimulate innovation, reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, improve air quality, and strengthen Uganda's manufacturing sector. As global demand for sustainable transport solutions continues to grow, Uganda has the potential to become a regional hub for electric vehicle production, assembly, and supporting technologies.

Realising this opportunity will require sustained collaboration between government, the private sector, academia, development partners, and investors. By fostering an enabling business environment, investing in charging infrastructure, supporting skills development, and promoting research and innovation, Uganda can accelerate the adoption of electric mobility while advancing the country's industrialisation agenda.

The Presidential CEO Forum (PCF) remains committed to facilitating public-private dialogue that unlocks investment, supports policy reforms, and promotes strategic partnerships to position Uganda as a leader in Africa's e-mobility transition.
