Presidential CEO Forum and URSB Commit to Deepen Collaboration to Strengthen Uganda’s Private Sector

The Chief Executive Officer of the Presidential CEO Forum (PCF), Ms. Irene Birungi Mugisha, hosted the Registrar General of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, during a courtesy visit at the PCF offices located at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre in Kampala.

During the engagement, Ms. Kainobwisho reaffirmed URSB’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the PCF in the execution of its mandate. She underscored URSB’s conviction that the formalisation of Uganda’s economy through business registration, intellectual property protection, improved access to credit, and robust regulatory and business rescue frameworks is essential to fostering private sector confidence and competitiveness in line with Uganda’s development aspirations.

Ms. Birungi Mugisha expressed appreciation for URSB’s continued support of the PCF, noting that the visit reflects the strong and constructive relationship between the two institutions. She further welcomed the opportunity to deepen collaboration and emphasized the importance of sustained partnership in advancing private sector-led growth.

Both parties agreed on the need to develop and implement a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize their collaboration. The proposed framework will define the scope, modalities, and priority areas of engagement, particularly in supporting business formalization as a key driver of Uganda’s ten-fold growth strategy.
