Barbara Mulwana started her career as an Applications Engineer at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, in 1991. In 1991, she joined Nice House of Plastics, a company her late father founded and owned, as head of sales and marketing. Later, she was promoted to executive director. In May 2017, she was elected chairperson of the Uganda Manufacturers’ Association, an industrial lobbying and advisory association that brings together over 600 Ugandan manufacturers and industries.
Barbara graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in the United States with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She also holds the Electronic Document Professional (EDP) certification, from the Kellogg School of Management.
She sits on the boards of the following public and private Ugandan companies: Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited, Uganda Batteries Limited, a member of the Mulwana Group, Jesa Farm Dairy, another Mulwana Group company, Jubilee Insurance Company Uganda Limited, Private Sector Foundation Uganda.
Emmanuel Katongole is a Ugandan statistician, economist, businessman, entrepreneur, and industrialist. Katongole currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Cipla Quality Chemical Industries.

In 1997, Emmanuel Katongole along with Randall Tierney, Edward Martin, Francis X. Kitaka, Frederick Mutebi Kitaka and George Baguma, founded a company called Quality Chemicals Limited (QCL). The company specialized in the importation of generic veterinary and human pharmaceuticals from India. Katongole served as managing director & chief executive officer as well as a shareholder from 1997 until 2007. Katongole also served as the Chief Executive Officer of QCIL from 2007 until 2013. In July 2014, President Yoweri Museveni appointed Katongole to serve as Chairman of the Uganda National Oil Company.
Katongole is also a member of the Initiative for Global Development (IGD) Frontier 100, a group that joins the most successful business leaders operating in frontier markets, with business leaders from Europe and the United States. The Governing Council of IGD is co-chaired by Madeleine Albright and General Colin L. Powell, both former secretaries of the State of the United States of America. Emmanuel Katongole is a Rotarian and a member of the Rotary Club of Muyenga. He has also served as the District Governor for Rotary District 9211, which comprises Tanzania and Uganda. In August 2014.

Mr Douglas Opio is the Executive Director of the Federation of Uganda Employers, Uganda’s leading Employers Organization recognized by the Government of Uganda as well as the International Labor Organization.
He is an Experienced Labour and Employment Expert with a demonstrated history of working with local and international Employers. Skilled in business strategy, industrial relations, Nonprofit Organizations, Sustainable Development, EAC regional integration, training, public speaking and resource mobilization.
Mr Douglas is a technical advisor at East African Employers Organization, President of Rural Agri-business Incubator Support Enterprise (RAISE) Limited, and a National Coordinator at WageIndicator Foundation.

Ramathan Ggoobi is a Ugandan Economist, Author and Lecturer. He is the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance in Uganda after being appointed to the position in 2021 after his impressive economic research report was released in 2021 from Makerere University Business School.
After graduating from Makerere University with an economics degree in 2003, Ggoobi who was among the best students of economics was enrolled as an economics lecturer, at Makerere University.
However, before completing the induction process with Makerere University, Kampala International University (KIU) contacted Ggoobi in need of his services.
Then a month later, Kampala University contacted him for the same and he was accepted until Makerere University Business School contacted him in need of his services.
This is where he has been lecturing until he was appointed Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance on 15th July 2021, by the Fountain of Honors, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni replacing Keith Muhakanizi who was taken to the office of the Prime Minister.
Gobi as well wrote a column and blog in the Sunrise Newspaper titled ‘Are You Listening Mr President for eight years. Additionally, Ggoobi analysed public policy for senior public leaders in Uganda for four years.
Ggoobi also got involved in a global debate of why Neo-Liberation is much taught in economics. He was inspired into becoming an economist by Prof. Patrick Kabunakuki who persuaded him to pursue economics that works and the former governor of the Bank of Uganda and Proprietor of the defunct Greenland Bank, Sulaiman Kiggundu while still in Secondary School.
Joseph Muvawala holds a PhD in Economics, a Master of Arts in Economic Policy and Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Social Administration, all from Makerere University. He possesses professional experience both in middle-level and top management of over 20 years in development practice and policy formulation.
For the last 6 years, Dr Muvawala has been the Executive Director of the National Planning Authority a semi-autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, charged with developing integrated development plans for Uganda. Under this job, Joseph is tasked with managing and handling complex deliverables related to various sectors of the economy, including and not limited to sustainable financial and socio-economic development, evaluation of Government programmes and policies, development of the National Development Plans and monitoring their implementation, advising the Executive on economic policy direction for improved economic growth, among others.
Joseph possesses profound experience in evaluation principles, standards, processes, and methodologies, including a demonstrable understanding of state-of-the-art evaluation theories and practices. He has provided technical oversight of the evaluation of Government programs such as the Universal Primary Education (UPE), the Decentralization programme, Mid-term and End of Term evaluations of the National Development Plans (NDP I and NDP II), various Government projects, Country Strategy Papers, Donor Country Strategies, to mention but a few.
Ruth Biyinzika was the Project Manager of a Skills Development Fund. A government of Uganda World Bank Funded Project supporting employee-led skilling programs, development of innovative training programs and worker’s certification in seven sectors mainly targeting youth, women and artisans.
In the past, Ruth has managed and implemented projects in Gender and Trade development, Livelihood enhancement programs, Early Childhood Development, Governance, Incubation development, Financial services for the poor and Managed with several development partners including European Union, African Development Bank, Commonwealth Secretariat, USAID, DFID and Bernard Van Leer Foundation.

Dr Paul Isaac Musasizi is an Engineer with Vast Experience in Systems Engineering on several cutting-edge Technology Interventions in Uganda. Dr Paul is an Elite Member of the International Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International). The outstanding interventions include the Kiira Motors Project, Uganda Police Force Crime Records Management System, Internet Laboratories at Makerere University, Academic Records Management System for Universities and Secondary Schools, National Security Information System, and the Interpol National Central Bureau Certificate of Good Conduct Information System, Uganda.
Dr Paul is a BSC. & MSC. in Mechanical Engineering graduate from Makerere University has a Certificate in Radical Innovations from MIT, USA, a Certificate in Managing Engineering and Technical Professionals by the SAE International Detroit, MI USA, Certificate in Principles of Cost and Finance by International Troy, MI USA, and Certificate in Engineering Project Management Troy, MI USA.
Dr Paul is the Chief Executive Officer of Kiira Motors Corporation, he also has a firm record as an entrepreneur, and Dr Paul is one of the founding directors of ARMS Technologies Limited a reputable Information Systems Engineering Company where he also serves as the Principal Systems Analyst.
Dr Paul has taught at Makerere University since 2003, currently posted to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has been key in the development of Curricula for several Engineering Programs at several Universities in Uganda as well as being a key member of the team which drafted the minimum requirements for Bachelor’s Degrees in Engineering for the Inter-University Council for East Africa.
Dr Paul is also a Member of the Five members of the UAE Investment Committee instituted by H.E YK Museveni to oversee the realization of prime United Arab Emirates Investment Ventures in Uganda in the Areas of Minerals & Energy, Agriculture and Agro-processing, Tourism and Infrastructure. Dr Paul was a key member of the Government of Uganda Technical Task Commitment for the Establishment of Plant for the manufacture of Buses and Trucks in Uganda.
Mathias Katamba is the Chief Executive Officer of DFCU Bank Uganda. Prior to joining DFCU, he was the Managing Director of Housing Finance Bank for 5 years.
Katamba has over fifteen years of experience in the Banking and Financial services sector. He holds a Master’s of Science in Financial Management from the University of East London, UK, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Greenwich and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Mathias Katamba is also a board member of the following institutions: Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (chair), UAP Old Mutual General Insurance Uganda Limited, Private Sector Foundation Uganda, and Central Broadcasting Services.
But with over 15 years of experience in banking and finance, Katamba was no neophyte. Before he joined DFCU, he was a managing director at Housing Finance Bank, the specialist mortgage lender, for close to five years (he was appointed Housing Finance MD in March 2014)
He was the managing partner, and a co-founder, at Progression Capital Africa, a private equity fund based in Mauritius, before his appointment at Housing Finance Bank. Progression Capital was set up to provide capital and technical support to microfinance institutions in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zambia.
Katamba has also previously served as the chief executive officer at Finance Trust, now Finance Trust Bank, for five years. In addition, he has held senior positions at Orient Bank Limited, Post Bank Uganda, the Absa Group, and Pride Microfinance Limited. At Pride Microfinance, he was instrumental in the transformation from a nongovernmental organisation to a microfinance deposit-taking institution.
He studied economics (BA) at the University of Greenwich and did a master’s degree (MSc) in financial management at the University of East London. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in public relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Dr Agnes Kiragga is the Head of the Statistics and Data Management Unit and a research scientist at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) at the Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MakCHS). Dr Agnes is an honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medicine at MakCHS and the secretary of the International Biometric Society Uganda region. She received her doctorate degree in statistics from the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, School of Public Health at Makerere University, with joint supervision from the School of Statistics at Indiana University, USA. Dr Agnes has a vast experience in HIV clinical research and the use of advanced statistical methods
Dr Agnes' doctoral studies focused on the challenges of using routinely collected HIV data for research and used advanced statistical methodology to address biases in HIV observational clinical databases. She has considerable experience in handling large and longitudinal datasets and has supported analyses using large regional and international HIV cohort databases. She has also supported several clinical studies ranging from randomized clinical trials, observational studies and clinical diagnostics studies. She is well-published and has contributed to the body of scientific evidence. Her main areas of research interest are applied statistics, Public Health,
implementation sciences and applied clinical research.
Her work has focused on the analysis of large observational HIV clinical databases, with an emphasis on the application of methods to deal with missing data as well as methods of causal inference and epidemiology. She provides statistical analysis support to researchers working on several projects and different study designs, such as large cohort studies and randomized clinical trials, implementation sciences, public health evaluations and other project designs. She has also research interests in public health work, particularly in the prevention of Mother to child transmission and promotion of male involvement in family planning using digital health, as well as use of data science methods to predict HIV outcomes.

Prof. Charles Kwesiga is the Executive Director of the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI). An Industrial Engineer by profession, Prof. Charles Kwesiga has significant experience as a corporate manager, management consultant, technology transfer, entrepreneur, technology diffusion, process and product development, business incubation, contract engineering services and applied R&D.
Prof. Charles Kwesiga has previously served at UNECA as a member of the Advisory Council on Africa Technology Transfer Networks. He has also held notable positions in the Science Technology and Innovation sector among them is the prestige of becoming the first-ever African President of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organisations from 2014 to 2016, 2nd Vice President of WAITRO (World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organisations), Chairman of the Governing Council of the newly established Uganda Petroleum Institute, Kigumba (UPIK) Special Presidential Assistant (advisor) for Productivity and Competitiveness, Uganda Government, Member of Board of Control of the Senior Command and Staff College Kimaka of Uganda Peoples Defence Forces. Prof Kwesiga is also a member of the teaching staff. Prof. Kwesiga serves as one of the five-member advisory team for the United Nations Economic Council for Africa (UNECA) on Africa Technology Transfer Networks.
